Walking aid

Hey all, I’m trying to get back to a healthy weight and since the weather is nicer these days I’d like to be able to go for walks in my local park. MS has impacted my ability to walk pain free and in turn has caused me to gain weight and the weight impacts on me being able to walk pain free too. I went for a walk in the Peak District and realised why I seem to get pain on one side of my back. This seems to be because my left side is weaker so I’m using more strength on my right side to drag my left side forward when walking for longer periods and it is horrible. I also get pain in my feet. What is the best walking aid you’d recomend? I was looking at rollators but I don’t know if a cane would be enough? I’m a bit emotional about possibly needing the rollator but I am prepared to as I need to be as close to pain free as I possibly can with as much support as I can get when doing a 5k walk. Help please 😩

I think nordic (hiking) poles is ideal. If you can put wider ferrules on their ends, it is better for more stability. I think you’ll need an off-road rollator if you’re hiking outdoors. I have a small byAcre for urban use but, I’m sure they do sturdier models. Best regards. 🏞

If you can use a cane go for that as much easier to get around. I never used but are people on here talk about walking poles a lot and say good things about them. I use a rollator and it works nice is just a bit big so hard to move when not in use.
