Relapse, maybe?
Hi everyone, looking for advice and experiences.
On Monday, I did my first workout after not being active for about 4 years. I had normal muscle soreness after, nothing unusual.
On Wednesday, I started sweating a lot and had pain in my right eye. I have had optic neuritis in that eye before. I also had a headache on the right side of my head.
On Thursday, I stayed in bed all day thinking I might be coming down with a cold. Today I saw the doctor. They ran tests and everything came back negative.
Now, when I lie down, the pain in my legs and head gets worse. I also had a strange episode of painful hiccups that lasted about 15 minutes.
Do you think this sounds like a relapse? Should I contact my neurologist?
Also, any recommendations for safely getting back into working out? I have gained 40 pounds over the last 2 years and really want to get moving again, but I do not want to trigger more symptoms.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate this group.
My neurologists response to your post would be that you have tired out your central nervous system by exercising more than normal which coupled by the effects of your lesions is causing additional symptoms. He would say don't suddenly go back to a previous exercise regim but build yourself back up slowly over several months.
@RC83 thank you.
