MRI questions
Hi, just wondering if anybody can answer some questions about an mri I had today. Is it usual for your yearly mri not to include your spine or to use contrast? I was surprised to only be in the mri for 15 mins and only have my brain scanned with no contrast. I’m wondering was the wrong scan ordered.
I have had two MRIs since diagnosis - both were brain and spine and with contrast. The hospital sometimes does not have the capacity to do the MRI scans so they outsource to a private company. A year ago I had my last mri through this company and it took 45 mins, included my brain and spine (I have lesions on both) and used contrast. I am now 18 mths after starting kesimpta so I was hoping for a direct comparison in order to see if the medication is working. I had a new lesion this time last year but they seemed to think it was too early to tell if the kesimpta was working. I went to the same company for the mri today and they could only do what the hospital had ordered. The scan appointments are like gold dust so I’m trying to get in touch with the hospital to make sure.
Hoping someone can stop me wondering while I wait for an answer! Hoping I’m wrong and this is exactly what was supposed to happen 😂
See my post from 2 days ago. Yes it's normal (for me) ref your 1st q.
@RC83 thanks for that. Good to know! This was my scan for neuro appt on the 16th where we were to see if kesimpta was working for me, so I’m still a bit perplexed as haven’t had a clear scan since diagnosis and starting this medication. But hopefully all part of the plan. Sounds like you’re pushing for the same next time you’re scanned. Thanks again
