Exempt from Council Tax due to MS
💡 Has anyone managed to be exempt from paying council tax due to MS?
The council call it SMI exemption. Meaning if someone has what is classified as a SMI (severe mental illness) condition they don't pay council tax but you have to download the form off the council website and get your DRs stamp/certification.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is primarily classified as a chronic neurological disease of the central nervous system, not a mental illness. However, because MS causes damage to brain tissue that directly affects mood, cognition, and behavior, it is frequently associated with severe psychiatric complications.

Interesting, not even thought about that , as I have sound pma!
