Issues wth intimacy

Does anyone else have issues with being intimate due to spinal lesions? When I’m having sex I can’t feel what’s going on properly and I’m struggling to enjoy it because I can’t feel it the same way. Looking for a) any tips if they exist and b) just solidarity if it’s an issue other people have

Yes but I don't currently have any spinal lesions that I'm aware of. I have issues with numbness and feeling. I don't have advice I just try to enjoy being with my partner. Even if I can't get anything out of it I still enjoy it because I enjoy being close.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I can imagine how difficult and upsetting it must feel when something so personal and intimate no longer feels the way it used to. Please don’t blame yourself or feel embarrassed, MS can affect sensation and sexual function when it involves the spinal cord or related nerves, and what you’re experiencing is a real and valid concern. You deserve to feel comfortable, connected, and able to enjoy intimacy. I’d encourage you to talk openly with your neurologist or MS specialist about it. There may be ways to better understand what’s causing the changes and find strategies that can help. You don’t have to quietly live with it or feel alone in dealing with it.
