Zero Gravity Chairs/Worstation?

Likely due to a combination of conspirators my right hip ended up totally trashed (dislocated big toe, foot drop and excessive wear) and was replaced a few years ago. I’m having an increasingly hard time sitting long periods (like working) in a regular chair and find myself sitting in bed typically so I can have me feet straight out in front of me. I think I would actually do better in a zero gravity chair that moves some of the weight to my back.

Anyone else have one? use one? any recommendations? I would like to use it to work on my computer so some way to use an independent computer desk/keyboard tray or complete workstation recommendations would be appreciated- ideas? what works and doesn’t?

Thanks!

@itsmewithms , the only zero gravity chairs that I found in the UK are garden chairs/sun loungers. And, I can’t quite see how this would work with working on a computer.

Personally, I would seek an Occupational Therapist’s opinion and see whether they have any suggestions.

I have had a Zero Gravity chair for years and it does take the weight off the back. It might work with a laptop or a tablet. I read in mine.

@constance56 I’ve had it in the back of my mind since Terry Wahl says she was pretty much in one all of the time before she restored herself with her diet. I basically think she had a long overdue remission and if it was triggered by her improving her diet and etc. that is great 😉 but I don’t think I will be reborn by eating more kale ;-0 I do what I can

My Dr has written a “letter of necessity” which is needed for me to use money from my “Health Care Spending Account” to buy one for home and to ask for work to buy one there. I’m in the US so that is our process if I don’t want to pay full retail etc. What type did you get and/or what features does it have? What do you wish it had and what do you find most important?

So good to find someone else using one! Thanks!

@constance56 What kind of Zero Gravity chair do you have? I’m starting a new job and they will buy me what I need but there are so many options I’m not sure what to recommend and many of them are so expensive I don’t want to suggest something and then not like it…

They have an occupational therapy type person that I will meet with when I start as well so they may have recommendations too…
