Trigeminal neuralgia

Hi all. Anyone out there had TN on both sides of the face at the same time? The pain in my face can be excruciating particularly around and behind my eye sockets and upper cheek. Occasional shooting pains but mainly constant pain and burning. Is it just me? Thanks

My MS specialist dismissed it when I called because I had the pain on both sides. It usually only effects one side, but my nurse said it is possible to feel pain on both it’s just not common. I looked it up and it is really rare to have pain on both sides, but I had gone to the dentist a few times to make sure nothing else was wrong.

Hi,
Sorry to hear that you are in pain, very horrible. I had it on one side of my face, while on holiday. Paracetomol or ibuprofen helped and also heat. It wore off after a while.

@mlgilber1 thought it was unusual. No problems at the dentist too
