mitoxantrone

Hi guys, I have primary progressive, and have been offered by the specialist a course of the chemotherapy drug Mitoxantrone. Now I don't know much about it,if anything and was wandering if anyone could shed any light on the subject. I understand it comes with some nasty possible side effects.

Hi dave, I took a course of mitoxantrone four years ago. I was really anxious about the possible side effects I had read so much about in the lead up to starting on the drug (I think it was the 'chemo' word that scared me). Other than an increasing level of nausea from each infusion (I had five infusions over 8 months) things were okay. Give me a shout if you have any more questions. George

Thank you both for your comments. I have started the chemo now and all is going well(apart from the side affects which are short lived but pretty grim. But thanks again for the 'heads up'.
