I think it's not just MS-specific drugs that can cause oral problems. Do you see the hygienist frequently? I'm told it's really important and that my main aim should be to keep the plaque at bay. The dentist approves of my 'home-made' remedy for this - apart from the brushing and flossing regime, I use a dental pick along the gum line to gently remove the plaque twice-daily. It's amazing how much I get off, even after a thorough go with an electric toothbrush plus flossing. Since I started doing this about a year ago, I feel it's halted the receding gums. The dentist also says that the vitD supplementation is essential for bone health (= gums as well), and that it must be supplemented with vitK.
