Zero Tolerance
After almost a year of improvements, many of my symptoms started getting worse recently. Balance, numbness, fatigue, sleep quality, twitching and my bad reactions to stressors...all joining forces to drive me nucking futs. It's been bad enough not having glasses for almost two months since my face fought the sidewalk, but all this...and weight gain?!
I rationalized it as a relapse due to all the extra stresses the last couple of months have brought, but the weight gain held a clue. I let my guard down and gave in...to wheat. My wife bought some kind of trail nut mix that had pretzels in it. Stupid tiny pretzels. Fragments of stick pretzels the length of a grain of rice. So tiny...how could it make any difference?
Went back to Zero Tolerance mode and two days later my symptoms have remitted enough to take an extra long hike. My mind feels much more functional as well.
I'm happy for anyone who is able to eat gluten without all the drama I go through, even a bit jealous.
Gluten feeds my MS. Anything more than zero is too much.
