Sensory Overload
Concerts, casinos, arcades, sure I'd expect it to happen at those places...but the grocery store?
Does someone know how to navigate the yogurt aisle without putting a blindfold and earplugs on? I don't know if it's all the florescent lights or the combination of thousands of items and people moving in different directions. I always leave in worse shape than I was when I went in.
I know you said without earplugs but I have loop earplugs that dampen certain frequencies and sometimes I’ll just put head phones in with something to take my mind off it all and I can focus. I’m also a stickler for a list so I’m not looking at eeevvvveerrryyy thing and just navigate my way to what I need.
I came here to suggest the loops also. I also have to wear them in the movie theater and it’s still a lot. I also would suggest the cocoon sunglasses. It seems to dampen the stimulation for me.
