Getting an appointment - UK

My annual MRIs got out of sync with my annual consultant appointments. So this year I saw my consultant in April and had my MRI in June. Usually this isn't a problem but this year my MRI showed new lesions. I have a letter from my consultant asking for my next appointment to be brought forward, but the problem is there are no available appointments. I've been told I am on the cancellation list. My mum thinks I should chase. I don't think there's any point. Does anyone else (UK/England-based) have any experience of this?

I'm wondering if there is something like a hot clinic you could go to at your hospital where your neurologist is based, you may be able to see neurologist, it most likely won't be your usual one but hopefully they could go through your mri. I would ring neurology department and ask about this and yes I would chase up about how far down the cancellation list you are as well. Best wishes
