Shift.ms is better if you're logged in

I'd been looking at alternate search engines (general rather than media specific) over the last week and after sifting through a list of about 45 of them,most of which were very commercial/spammy, I selected a shortlist of ones which I actually thought were pretty good and thought I'd share them on here. It should be noted that in each one I used the query 'multiple sclerosis' as a test basis. The last 3 I've grouped separately, as they didn't return that many hits for 'multiple sclerosis' but I felt they offered a unique and different approach to searches in general though so perhaps worthy of mentioning. I particularly wanted to find SE's that weren't too riddled with ads as well as they can be very annoying. Almost impossible to avoid completely though but these seemed a lot less 'in your face' than some of the others I'd tried.
