Duloxitine advice

Hi, I have just had my 2 yearly appointment with a MS doctor and 4 years post Lemtrada treatment, the MS seems to be stable (no new lesions, no relapses etc) the old symptoms (fatigue, pain, brain fog, numbness and tingling, weakness in legs and arms, bladder and bowel issues etc etc) are slowly getting worse. I am dealing with a lot in life right now (probate issues ongoing for 20 months, financial issues, housing issues) on top of full time work and MS and the consultant thinks my worsening symptoms are caused by poor mental health. Seems plausible as my GP persuaded me to come off the low dose Sertraline I have been on for years, took a year to wean myself off it and I stopped taking it last summer. I have been on and off low dose antidepressants (fluoxitine, amytriptyline and then sertraline) for many, many years and have always had a terrible time coming off them and normally end up being back on them after a few months. I was really proud of managing to stay off them, but I think I have to admit I'm not coping and need some kind of drug to help take the edge off. The consultant is recommending Duloxitine to help with anxiety, nerve pain, low mood and bladder issues. He said to start with 30 mg for a month then up it to 60 mg and potentially higher doses, if 60 mg doesn't work. I've done some reading and the side effects seem a bit scary. I'm particularly worried about the dizziness as I have low blood pressure and am wobbly at the best of times. Also, a bit worried about starting something that I may struggle to come off. I'm only just managing so worried about changing things that might make it worse and push me over the edge. Can you tell I have anxiety?! I've read back through the old posts but couldn't find anything linked to dizziness. Does anyone have any experience with Duloxitine? Did it help? What were the side effects and how long did they last? Trying to figure out if I have to push through some initial teething problems then it will get better and if so, how long it takes to settle down. What was it like to come off? What symptoms did it ease? Thanks for any advice, it is much appreciated and apologies for the long post.

Hi! It’s a hit or miss medication in my opinion. I tired it and it was horrible for me. It was putting me a a weird headspace. Had a horrible nightmares on it and overal it did the opposite for me what it supposed. But my mom is taking it for her migraines and it works miracles for her. She does not experience side effects that would bother her. And her doctor has her on 120mg … not sure how that’s possible…
