Top tips for a lumber puncture please

Hi I've booked 2 days off work following the procedure ( I'm a teacher so work is BUSY) and have read somewhere that drinking coke or a coffee helps? I'd that before or after? Really nervous as this is what I was dreading from day 1 of this...

Just drink plenty of water afterwards, I didn’t have any problems with mine. The only thing I would advise is to take a couple of painkillers. I felt nothing during it, just a niggly pain for a day or two but it wasn’t too bad. I had been worried sick for nothing!

I've had 3 in my time. Lie down for as long as they'll let you. Drink plenty of water/fluids so your body can replace the fluid they remove. It's not really bad. You just can have a severe headache.
