Optic neuritis MRI
Can anyone tell me how long after a bout of optic neuritis it would show up on an MRI? Is it only when you're in the middle of an episode with active lesions?

Any lesion will still show even if it’s not active. Once there, it’s rare for a lesion to go away. Some medications have let to them shrinking and appearing to heal totally, but it’s really not common.
I saw an ophthalmologist a year after optic neuritis. I never asked about a lesion or any questions at all really (tired day lol). They did say that the optic nerve “was very thin now which is from the damage. But otherwise healthy eyes. The brain is what tells us what the eyes see and because of that it is not always reliable with MS” I don’t know if that is helpful but I remember it all the time when I have vision issues.
