Removal of reasonable adjustments 🤔
Is this allowed? I met with my old and new line managers with HR present to review my reasonable adjustments and to have a little bit of a handover. HR was there to advise but it wasn’t a formal meeting. My manager made notes but they’re not detailed but during the meeting it was agreed everything could stay the same.
Despite having work from home days last year (8 or 10 total), my head teacher (who wasn’t at the meeting) has since said I can’t have them this year as “they not in the plan”. I’ve no idea what plan she is talking about as I’ve never seen one. My MS is no better so I do still need the days where I can work from home.
Is this allowed? Is there anything I can do?
I don’t think this should be allowed. I think meetings can be had where you review the reasonable adjustments. Ask to go to Occupational Health to ask their advice … I believe the reasonable adjustments shouldn’t have been removed without their involvement.
The HR at my school put together a risk assessment and support plan which they review with me regularly as needed. It is their job to make recommendations to your head so I would go back to them, ask to clarify their recommendations and for a copy of the risk assessment as per your school’s policy. If your head isn’t prepared to make the recommended reasonable adjustments then you should follow the grievance policy sighting your protected characteristic and asking for reasons why previously reasonable adjustments have been removed
