I was just telling somebody today that when I recently saw my neurologist, I come back feeling like she undermined my abilities. And the person I spoke to said that’s very typical of a neurologist. For instance, when I told my neurologist, I don’t drive that often she made the comment that maybe I shouldn’t be driving, but that’s not true. I drove the other day. I have no problem whatsoever driving on my own even though I don’t drive that often and that’s what bothered her, that I don’t drive that often, but I don’t need to drive that often. It doesn’t mean it’s that I don’t know how to drive safely or that I can’t drive. If I couldn’t see or if I made big mistakes, I have to tell myself I can’t drive but that’s not the situation.
How many of you was MS feel that you cannot drive? How many of you with MS that don’t drive know that you should not drive, and how many of you with MS know that you drive just fine?
