1st Wheelchair
So i'm finally doing it, after 6 months+ of thinking about it im going to be assessed and measured up on Friday for a new wheelchair, something I really didn't want to do!
But i'm fed up of missing out on life and not doing things with my kids because of amount of walking and standing involved.
I was avoiding it because i felt that because i could walk a short distance i didn't "qualify" to be in a wheel chair, but now i see that it's just a tool that is there to improve your life which anyone can use, be it full time or part time.
And sod what anybody else around me thinks!!
If it helps me spend more time outside with my kids then it's only a positive thing.
Good for you! I was so self conscious when my issues began but at one point I'm like "to hell with it". We do still have lives to live and I refuse to not live because of this. We got this!
Good for you.. Have you ever thought about a sit down scooter? I bought the Atto scooter and its been huge for me. My daughter loves going to the mall so I break out the scooter and I can spend as much time there as she wants..
