Type 1 Diabetic & MS Warrior

Hello fellow Warriors! I’m one, like many others, who enjoy a variety of autoimmune afflictions; MS, Type 1 Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Pernicious Anemia, Hypothyroidism and a bout of Autoimmune Gastritis. As a veteran diabetic (33 years) and an MS’r since 2010, I find that these two impact me the most in terms of daily interruptions. In fact, many days it’s far more challenging managing fluctuating blood sugars & making constant adjustments to insulin, food, and movement. Ironically, even though both autoimmune, I’ve had the darndest time finding anyone else who also has both to contend with. It’s odd really because both involve the idiocy and stupidity of B and T lymphocytes attacking parts of the body. So, anyone else contending with these two? Or in the least, Fibromyalgia and MS??

Hi There. Yes I am very much like u. I have ms, type 1 diabetes, under active thyroid and coeliac disease. I am forty six , was diagnosed with ms four years ago, my diabetes has hidden the ms since I was twenty four years old, I still work, walk and swim often. I have ms in my brain, neck and it’s along way down my spine now. Yes the ms was a shock but I just get in with it, my sisters family have diabetes and the thyroid, and my mums sister had the ms. I live in the Uk and have two sons, twenty five and twenty three.
