Cis

Hi. I have had an epuside of transverse myelitis 2 years ago. Mri showed just a 16.5mm lesion in my spine. I have a diagnosis of cis. I have random symptoms of leg weakness. Mild but annoying and i am clumsy and had a fall last week. But not too bad generally sometimes I think I am imagining symptoms. I'm now 55. My friend a Dr said I am too old for a new diagnosis. My sister has Ms. So I know I'm a little higher risk. I would love to put all this behind me. So one lesion some new symptoms of numbness , what is happening. I don't think I have Ms. But it niggling at me.

CIS is better then MS but if you are not sure that’s right maybe get another MRI? Plenty of people get diagnosed after 50 and you have a family history.

CIS usually leads to a ms diagnosis further down the line given time . If your last mri was 2 yrs ago it’s worth getting under neurology to have another one and compare if you are now having more symptoms.diagnosis can happen at any age young or old , if your body gonna stuff up it’ll stuff up regardless.
