Body jerks? Newly diagnosed
I am very newly diagnosed. I have started experiencing more body jerks. It’s my upper torso and legs, sometimes including my shoulders and arms at the same time. I’ve always had my legs do it, but now it’s getting more aggressive and moving in my stomach and upper body. It’s quick and very annoying. Not painful - just really annoying.

I get this as well and it does my head in. Mine started off as little jolts when I was falling asleep, then over the years it seemed to expand the map and started involving my shoulders and upper body too. 😅 For me it's much worse when I'm tired, stressed, run down or trying to push through fatigue. Yoga, stretching and strengthening my core definitely helped reduce it, but if I'm honest it never completely got rid of it. MS can cause all sorts of weird electrical glitches. My body sometimes feels like it's running Windows 95 on a dodgy extension lead. 🤣 You're newly diagnosed so try not to panic. Keep a note of when it happens and mention it to your MS nurse or neurologist, especially if it's getting more frequent. Mine became more manageable once I learned pacing and stopped trying to win every argument against fatigue.
I have the same issue especially when I try to sleep. My whole lower body jerks and even a muscle relaxer doesn't help. I take trazodone to get some sleep.
