Laughing and crying at the same time

I’m so happy to have a community of people going through the same struggles…. Just to talk to people who understand!! Well today I went with my sister and my niece to visit my mum. After that they wanted to go to the Mall ( not planned). I took the opportunity to go because I haven’t gone shopping to the Mall in ages and my sister was driving so I didn’t have to worry about all that. Anyway let’s just say I was out from 11am and it was about 3pm and my walking was getting more wobbly. I was unbalanced and just a bit wobbly for a minute sort of tripping over myself. My sister asked ‘ what’s wrong with you? Are you dizzy? And I said yes and just wobbly… then I just started laughing ( at myself because even after 5 years of being diagnosed I think I’m still in denial) then my niece is like ‘are you laughing? What are you laughing at? Oh no you’re crying? ‘ I was pissing myself laughing for a second ( literally if you know what I mean.. thank god for those horrible pads I have to wear now!!) and then I just started crying right there in the middle of the mall. I told my sister I’m tired now so can’t really walk anymore…. And I was just crying and my eyes wouldn’t stop tearing. I rarely tell my my mum and sister how I really physically feel because I don’t want to upset them but at the same time I know they don’t realise how much my disease has progressed. I’m just positive and go on with my day managing however I can without complaining… but then come the tears and when they hit it takes a day or two for it to stop. Have any of you not really gone into detail with your family about how you physically feel? My partner knows more as we go out together more often so he can tell when I’ve had enough but my sister not so much. Should I sit and tell her or just leave it be? That’s all from Teary eyed Eirini for today 😩🥹☹️
@ClaireVS

You need to explain to them then they can understand & help with support when needed. Hope you rest up & feel much better soon

I have really gone too much into it. My mom just wants to think I am in remission because the MRI shows no progression. I have told her that isn’t how it works but hey. I am functional so most people don’t notice. My daughter is studying to be a physical therapist. She notices things. I have nerve pain but I just deal with it. I have kids to raise so I avoid the heavier pain killers. I need to be sharp and not drugged up to get them raised. I think it is a personal decision. You know your family and what you would like to deal with. I am glad you got to go out to the mall. God bless.
