Hey I'm new to this app but I was diagnosed yesterday with ms I'm keeping positive but do understand the changes that your body can go through. Just wondering what everyone else did when they found out they had Ms, thank you everyone

Welcome to the club, not one you wanted to join but here you are! There is not set thing to do when you get a diagnosis, it's a different journey for everyone. My advice would be to take some time to process and just sit with it for a while. Be prepared for life being different from now on, not necessarily bad but different to how you had imagined things would be. For some people there is almost a grieving process, anger, denial and acceptance kind of thing. Whatever it is for you it will probably be quite emotional so staying positive is good but it's OK to ask for help, lean on those around you and be kind to yourself. For me the diagnosis was a relief as my MS was very rapid and aggressive and the route to diagnosis was, let's just say traumatic, so it was good to finally understand what was going on. I started a DMT very quickly so my head was spinning with it all

Well first thing I did was enjoy my 5 day stay in the hospital lol. But during that time, I had time to think. And came to one very important conclusion. Continue to be you. Don't let this stop you. Sure. It may eventually prevent you from doing certain things. But still be you. Keep living your life to the fullest. I bowled for 15 years now I can't. But that doesn't stop me from still going and enjoying my friends and family. Biggest thing is just to continue.
