CAR T cells. What are they all about? Why are they important for us?
I hear more and more background discussions about CAR T cells, CAR T therapies.
They sound promising but, as ever, there is a lot to them. This is a great article.

This sounds really interesting. I'm sure nothing like this was mentioned at ECTRIMS though I could be wrong. Thanks for sharing
@VanessaJ I’m not sure of the formal sessions. It is impossible to catch all of them. However, I think there is a US company called Atara (I may be getting confused here) that is working on CAR T in MS. It is not without its issues. The theory is good but I *think* the current side effect profile is a bit too sporty for most! Proper scientific research never moves as fast as we’d like. In a side note: it is this gap between desire for a cure and reality that all the crackpot/wishful thinking/big pharma is hiding this from you/so called ‘cures’ fit. It is us, the people with MS, quite reasonably, trying to cure the cognitive dissonance by looking for solutions and the ability to take control of this bugger of a disease. It is not sexy or exciting but the single thing I wish I had done better was lifestyle stuff. It is proven to help. I had times I was overweight, ate poorly, smoked cigarettes (mostly OPs but nonetheless…), drank too much, and exercised too little. Perhaps I am overcompensating by riding 5000 miles across Canada next year to raise a million bucks for MS initiatives? #RideCanada4MS
