Sports/ active hobbies to do??
Hi all,
I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to any sports/ active hobbies to do. I have MS and currently suffer a lot from the joys of fatique. In addition to this, my left side is pretty weak with a burning/ 'numb' but tingly sensation in my left hand side especially but also my...
...right leg as well. I used to be pretty sporty but nowadays I just feel so worn out plus the sensation in my limbs makes it uncomfortable/ painful at times. I'm looking to get back into doing something more active...I need something that suits me/ my symptoms but would also love it to be something that my boyfriend (who doesn't have MS) could also do without being stuck waiting around for my body to catch up. We were thinking a while back of rock climbing or something but I'm a bit unsure of how something like this would work. I know that lots of people recommend yoga etc but we're looking for something a little more fun. Plus, we've not long moved to Huntingdon (nr Cambridge) so don't really know what's around. Any suggestions? xx
have you tried using the swimming pool to strengthen your core muscles and do walking exercises to get yourself started maybe he could use the gym also they do good inductions at gyms to cater for those ms tired times a group of young people from shift ms came to norwich last year and made a film about some of these things and how they get on with it pilates is brilliant cos you can do it laying down but it does loads of good core muscle strengthening I could send a link to the bbc film we made to see if it helps
