Ankylosing Spondylitis and MS
Hello!
Forum newbie here.
Since this forum seems to be quite global, I was wondering how many of us out there have both AS and MS? I’ve seen a few old posts from years back asking the same with not many responses. Are we really that few and far between??
I had my AS diagnosis in 2016 and MS diagnosis in 2022 (first major relapse in 2021). Neurologist suspects the MS was a result of the anti-tnf therapy for the AS, but since they don’t do before and after MRI’s there no real way of knowing for sure 😅
About to stop my AS biologics (secukinumab since the MS diagnosis) and start Ocrevus for the MS instead as that now takes priority due to a recent big relapse.
Would love to hear from some people with both rubbish conditions so I feel a little less medically mysterious 😃
hi @DecaffandCats , I’m the same , AS(2003) and MS (2006). Anti-tnf in 2006 for 6 months and the rest is history. Currently on a half dose of cosentyx and approaching year two of Mavenclad. I was on Ocrevus before that.
@mtonys I think secukinumab is safe for MS, says me a few years on 🙏😬
