Uncertain about the future

Hey my name is Josh, I was diagnosed last February. I was dealing with symptoms for along time they kept blaming my type 1 diabetes but I knew it was something more for Awhile. I got 3 older sisters and 2 outta 3 have diagnosed multiple scelrosis and my other sister might also have it but in denial I'm not sure. I used to breed turtles and other reptiles right now I just lay low, workout, try to stay healthy and read my bible. Thx for having me cheers

I am glad you are reaching out on this site. Interesting to know that your sisters also share this MS diagnosis. That must be really difficult for you all, although perhaps they may be a source of encouragement and good advice for you? Your recent diagnosis means you are probably feeling the impact of all the anxiety of the unknown. I was diagnosed in 2005, but recall a kind of sense of calmness overtaking me during that time. I knew something was wrong, and was relieved when doctors told me it was REAL and had a name. Treatment is plentiful. I hope you have a good doctor who will educate you about the various types of treatment available. For me, and for Christians in general, when bad news hits, that is exactly when I run back to Jesus. I pray a lot more since having MS—not only for myself but I really try to be more cognizant of the less visible ways that people around me are suffering. I thank GOD for giving me a real sense of peace about MS and taking away my initial apprehension. Yes, very gradually I have had to make some life adjustments, but by the grace of God, I am still mobile. If that changed tomorrow, I truly believe He will help me make that adjustment (mentally and physically). Keep going back to your FAITH. We are all tested. But you may find a ‘side effect’ of this illness is STRONGER FAITH. Keep reading your Bible—the only real source of HOPE that you need to get through life! Take care!
