@cosine , there’s a range of different thermometers available on the market, dependant on how much you want to spend. The following is an American website, but it may help :-

Amazon seems to be selling hundreds of them!

@cosine we bought a fancy digital one you just press against your forehead or pop in your ear. We bought it for the kids as they are forever running a temperature and it is hard enough to get them to put anything in their mouths for a period of time (except the TV remotes, cat toys, sticks, rocks, sand, insects, baby chickens).
We have actually bought 2 as the youngest decided to flush the first one in the toilet.
They retail for about $120 here in Australia.
That said, I am on Gilenya which is an immune modulator/suppressor so I am unlikely to get a temperature (temperature is an immune response to the infection/virus). If I do my wife (nurse) takes it very seriously. Not as seriously as when the kids get a temp but she acknowledges that I might be sick…

@cammo lol at your wife taking your temps seriously!

Which brand is it?

Are most of them accurate?

@cosine we have this one:

I am not sure how accurate it is… Don’t think you would use it in a hospital setting, but I think it is accurate enough for home use.

My wife does second guess it a lot. Especially when taking my temp. “That can’t be right, you are fine”… aahhh the compassion of being married to a nurse.

You would imagine otherwise!! Being married to nurse, you probably thought you’d be waited on hand and foot!
