Telephone assessment

This morning at 8 am I had a PIP assessment.
It was, as is to be expected, nonsense.
However, what crossed my mind is,
Does a telephone assessment at such an unearthly hour augur well?
Only 4-8 weeks to wait hmph.

@oskar You should not be called until after 9am when I was a PIP Assessoor. Maybe it’s changed

@oskar, can I ask when did you make your claim & send in your form? Colette

@Colette about 2 to 3 weeks ago. Or maybe 4 to 6 weeks

Wow @oskar, that’s quick! I submitted mine early May, logged the claim 20th April & apart from a text saying they’d received my form not heard a thing! 😳😩 Colette

@Colette then I hastily assume it augurs well 🤞

Thanks for posting this, it prompted me to chase up my claim – form sent early May. After a 45 min wait on the line (thankfully freephone!) to the dwp, the call handler gave me the number of the Independant Assessment Service (previously ATOS?) to check where my claim is up to. Told my claim is in a queue for a tel assessment but they could offer me a cancellation appointment on Saturday morning 9.15am! Call will take about an hour & they will check I’m still ok to go ahead with the assessment on Friday afternoon! If anyone is waiting: independent assessment service tel: 08001884880 give them a call, assistant was very helpful.. Colette 👍👏😁

@oskar, hi. Yes went very well on Saturday morning. Lovely nurse did it, she was very chatty. Same, I’ll be waiting up to 8 weeks but may come sooner (fingers crossed). The assessor writes a report, that goes to a case manager who decides to award or not… Colette
