Rejected after Interviewing

I need advice. I keep missing out on promotions because I forget basic definitions when someone asks me a question. Things I know but my mind goes blank and I the nerves kick in making it nearly impossible to find the words to explain what they are asking. I’m so depressed and feel so defeated. I’ve been doing this for over three years and seeing people that have been there significantly less and not accomplished what I have get promoted kills me.
I don’t know what to do. I have been applying with other companies but would love to stay where I’m at. I just don’t think they are a good match due to what keep going through.

@wendy_crystal I get the same thing Wendy. Just brush it off and try again. Great companies are out there. Don’t be discouraged.

Hi @wendy_crystal and welcome.

I believe you are in the US. I have no knowledge of the discrimination laws in your country, so hopefully some of our American members will respond.

PS it would be useful if you completed your profile (head/shoulders, top right) to ensure you get advice appropriate to your location.

I’m experiencing cognitive issues, memory loss and brain fog. I’m not having any mobility issues, just the concentration and focusing.

I think that when people hear you say, “I was diagnosed with MS”, they automatically assume that we should all be in a wheelchair, walking with a cane etc. If I had a dime for every time someone said, “well you don’t look sick”, I’d be rich.

I understand what you’re going through @wendy_crystal. Maybe speak to the HR department and let them know what’s going on. Good luck to you, my friend! God bless!!

Sorry to hear about your struggle. I struggled with my last interview similarly. I can point to what I have accomplished. But I’ve become increasingly documentation dependant. I make notes about everything I do. Keeps me working efficiently. Not the best for an interview though. Telling everyone in an interview I have ms doesn’t seem like a good option. I’m in the states too. Let me know if you come up with a strategy that works for you. I don’t want to leave my current employer either. The medical and disability coverage is hard to find.
