MRIs - how often

Hi All Just wanted to ask how often is the normal for follow up MRIs ? Should it always be done with contrast.... seems the sensible thing to do... I have private health car at the moment and can generally get the MRIs quick, but wondered whats the normal wait times on NHS ? Regards, Damien.

hi cleopatra - suspect it will be a long wait subject to where you are in the country, guess London will be a nightmare ... I might be wrong....

Hi @seanachai and @cleopatra all of my experience is with the NHS. When I asked both my neurologist and MS nurse they said they don't really do any MRI scans unless it's necessary for the DMD. I had one which gave the diagnosis and one with contrast 6 months later which showed it was active and I am going in next week to discuss treatments. The waiting time has been about 4 weeks from seeing the neurologist to getting the scan, and then another 4-6 weeks for results.
