@karlsohare

I’m one of the lucky buggers with 2 autoimmune diseases, SPMS and Type 1 Diabetes and have had plenty of colds over the years.

I remember once having the Flu so bad, years before MS diagnosis, it took over a month to shift it.

@emzxx I’m still doing work as Iv had so much time off with relapses and that you get scared to be off.. it’s harder to inject with a cold have to count between sneezes before you inject 😂.. x

@peterfrancis my ms nurses say all the time you never really get cold and I must admit I don’t get sniffles but when a cold sets in I have the works!! Ooh iv have the flu once can’t even lift your head off the pillow.. just with this cold it effects my chest so I’m wheezy sound like John Wayne that’s on 60 fags a day x

@karlsohare , I am in the same boat when i get ill now i don’t like to take time off work as had time off with relapses , its rubbish but we solider through 🙂 , have you managed to have the flu jab yet? x

@emzxx and @shanikablake I’m quite reluctant to have my flu jab as i always become ill on it. I know this cold is due to weather change but with or without jab it doesn’t tend to make a difference. I don’t always get a cold but when I do I have the works An don’t think flu jab will change that x

@karlsohare , I have heard a lot of different stories about people who have had the flu jab , everyone reacts to it differently. Hope you are starting to feel better now x

I am one of those “MSers” that don’t ever get the common colds or flu. I’ve joked that my immune system was so bored it attacked itself for a real challenge ;-0 But I just shifted to Ocrevus last week and that impacts your immunity and I hope to get a new job soon which will expose me to a lot of new people. Given that I got the flu shot 2 weeks before starting Ocrevus.

I got it in the US so the strain may be different than you would receive. I got no flu symptoms but the injection site was sore for a few days and there was a slight puffiness. There were some nasty posts about people picking up the flu or shingles while on MS drugs that are immunosuppressant so I got the shot this year. I just made sure it was a dead virus form and did not get the spray form that is live virus. Hoping it protects me against the known flu version-

Several years ago I got the extra strong flu shot and a pneumonia shot, I had them a couple of weeks apart but afterwards I had a relapse. I have been getting the regular flu shot for 40 years and haven’t had any problem with it. My neuro told me not to get part two of the pneumonia shot or the strong flu shot. He said the regular flu shot will work just fine. I got my flu shot last Saturday I am good. Potter
