Optical Neuritus… Ouch!

I had ON when I was diagnosed, it purely affected my vision and lasted a few months.

I had a “stye” feeling in my eye last week, and went to my GP.He said it was an infection and put me on antibiotics.

The pain is defo a 6/10. Rang the MS nurse and she reckons it’s ON.

Boo hoo 🙁

ON was the prsenting symptom of my MS although I wasn’t properlydiagnoised until 5 years later. I was told at the time that ON was more common on mild or benign versions of MS. The ON was very painful and manifested like a huge sunspot in front of my left eye but I couldn’t distinguish colours on the red end of the spectrum. It last a couple of motnhs and I was very scared at the time but recovered fully. NAturally I am scared every time I have that ‘not quite right’ or stye feelign but it has not returned. Although scary I think you will be fine. Take care, M
