Mountain Biking and the Shivers

Been into mountain biking for a few years now and really love going over Cannock Chase. Can’t beat the buzz of hurting down a hill at 20+mph. I usually ride 50/60 miles a week, but when i get home and out of a hot shower i always get really shivvery and cold. Not sure if it’s MS or Avonex related…

…but it never seemed to happen before i started on the injections. Does anyone get this after physical exertion, just wondered, as the temps are starting to drop it’s now happening pretty badly after every ride. Must be a dodgy thermostat, any one know a decent plumber! 🙂

I find my muscles shiver like that after any prolonged exertion, such as walking for a long time. I don’t take DMDs, so think it’s just an MS symptom, which only came about a few years after diagnosis. I can’t take hot showers, heat exacerbates fatigue, so that could prob be a contributing factor to how you’re feeling.

Thanks Kiki. I’ll have to try skipping the shower and see how i go. Sure my flat-mates will love that one… 🙂

Just try having it a bit cooler, I didn’t much like it at first but got used to it and it means I’m not too exhausted to stand after it 🙂
