Skin Problems that dont heal

Hi all looking for any advice or to learn from anyone with similar experiences, I have MS and I inject copaxone every day for a about 5 years now, things have always been fine taking this DMT, however for over a year now my back keeps breaking out despite high doses of of a few different types of antibiotics ,today when i went for a follow up at doctor having completed another course of antibiotics I informed that It didn’t seem to help and felt just as bad instead of better, when I showed my top half the doctor seemed more concerned about an abnormal shape and color of mole that i never knew i even had and told me Id see skin specialist soon to get things seen. So just wondering if copaxone needs changed or the possible cause of these problems etc?

I am on Gilenya and have had some massive pimples on my face. Much bigger underground ones that I never had when I was a teenager (didn’t really have a pimple problem as a teenager),
When I showed my wife (who is a nurse), she said they look more like skin infections than pimples.
I think the compromised immune system from DMDs leads to this kind of thing. I have a beard (so hipster) which I am constantly playing with, and I think I am scratching or getting ingrown hairs and my immune system can not fight off the infection.
Anyway she recommended putting Chlorsig antibiotic eye ointment on them and they cleared up (after some epic popping).
Sounds strange using a pink eye ointment on a skin infection but she said they do it in the hospital all the time.

@cammo Thanks for that comment, I will be sure to give ur comment a try should my latest antibiotics fail again. Iv honestly never had spots , pimples etc my entire life up until the past year but now my back has been a total disaster, I will hear what the hospital say soon about my skin and the abnormal mole, if the hospital tell me iv got any more diseases to go with another two I already have I might try my own idea…… a tin of petrol and box of matches method pmsl 😂🤣 😂

@ms-man , I’ve just had a read of the Copaxone Patient Information Leaflet, http://www.tevauk.com/mediafile/id/42789.pdf

It would seem that this may well be a side-effect of the Copaxone, so you should contact your MS Nurse to discuss reviewing this treatment.

There are lots of options available now.

@stumbler I think it could be a time for a change so perhaps I will learn much more soon about the cause and solutions hopefully

I will do @ cammo, I guess I will learn if its a copaxone problem that needs a change or perhaps abnormal mole that doctor said needs looked at, either way It gets me out my house which I am happy about and when i am back home again I can build a snowman for a laugh since theres plenty of snow pmsl

@cammo @stumbler I had an abnormal mole cut out this morning and will find out in 4-6 weeks if I have skin cancer so I guess I will need to discuss with MS nurses and doctors a whole lot of questions if copxone can be continued and changes to treating MS im thinking of alternative remedy for MS, I got told skin cancer is the most treatable cancer.

@ms-man well that sucks. I am always worried about skin cancers as apparently there is increased risk with Gilenya, I have a family history, I live in Australia with no Ozone layer and I am the whitest boy alive… I should move back to Norway.
I hope you go well and there is no malignancy.
Let me know.

@cammo @stumbler , today the procedure was quite quick and couple of stitches to be taken out in 10 days time, i feel at ease after talking with doctor, depending on results more tissue could be cut out the surrounding area of removed mole or possibly larger area, and if it was deeper and spreading cancer drug would be required, the next few weeks will be a waiting game but i feel relaxed about it all. When i seen a GP last week the reaction freaked me out a bit because of an alarmed look on her face but its been dealt with quickly in 7days!! and that has got to be a new world record for my GP practice pmsl I will give them some praise this time , but im still a bit bitter with them because they doubted my MS for a decade

@cammo I think the most devastating part of today was that when I returned home the snow was washed away by heavy rain and my plans for building the most ridiculous snowman ever were ruined 😭⛄⛄ I had it all planned in my mind, I was going to have swimming goggles and two massive onions and a large carrot on the snowman pmsl 🤣🤣⛄

@ms-man cracker 🙂 I presume the carrot/onions are for the nose/eyes 🙂 as I dont think it snows much in Africa 🙂

@cammo the swimming goggles were for the eyes pmsl🤣🤣⛄ Im praying the snow comes back as I think the snowman would make a cracking profile picture lol
