Sheffield MS service workshops

Hi all,

I’ve been sent this message by Esther from the Sheffield Multiple Sclerosis service. Please get in touch with her directly if you’d like to attend the workshops.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The Sheffield Multiple Sclerosis service, based at the Royal Hallamshire is starting a new project to improve the way they care for people with MS. They especially want to improve the care for people with MS who are more disabled and might find it difficult to travel to hospital.

We want to hear the views of those with experience living with MS. We are running two workshops and we’d like to invite people with MS, their families, friends, carers or people who volunteer or work for an MS charity. We are particularly interested in hearing the views of those people who need to use a stick, crutch, walker or wheelchair and is not currently taking a disease modifying therapy. They don’t have to be under the care of the Sheffield MS centre.

The dates we’ve planned are:
2nd February 2-5pm
28th February 2-5pm
These will be at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neurosciences which is opposite the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. (http://sitran.org). There are disabled facilities available including parking and toilets and level access. We’ll also provide refreshments and reasonable travel expenses or taxi fares for people and anyone who wishes to accompany them (they are also welcome to take part). Those who are interested are also welcome to have a guided tour of SITraN, in which we do cutting edge research into conditions like MS.

If you are interested in coming to one or both meetings or have any other questions, do get in touch. If you are interested in sharing your views but can’t come to these meetings, do also get in contact as there will be opportunities to make your voice heard.
