Progressive ms

Hi every one
I have a question about spms
Ms is a progressive disease from the beginning so why the secondary phase of it is called “progressive”?

@z-maryam , the different types of MS can be somewhat confusing.

But, “Secondary” Progressive MS (SPMS) starts off as a case of Relapsing Remitting MS (RRMS), which transitions into SPMS, when defined relapses and remissions are no longer experienced.

Primary Progressive MS (PPMS) has no relapsing/remitting stage.

Good question! So is it fair to say someone with RRMS will eventually develop into the SPMS category? I’ve been relapse free since starting tecfidera two years ago (Hope not to jinx it!!) So is it the DMD working that’s given me some rest bite? Or more likely that’s just the way MS is I suppose?
