Pins and needles worsening

Just in the last couple of hours the pins and needles in my hands has intensified, my right arm feels tingling weak and numb and I all of a sudden feel very sick and sleepy. What is happening? So scared I’m going to relapse!!!

A lot of the time these can be transient.

FWIW, I have come to rely on breathing/ mindfulness/yoga/meditation type methods when these sort of things really bother me.

You have to learn and practice them quite a bit but it is well worth it.

Regarding a relapse: that is only something your neuro can say for sure. It is apparently normal to have sensations at times that aren’t necessarily a relapse, just the MS buggering you about.

First thing Monday, give the MS nurses a call. If they think it is necessary they can get you seen.

In the meantime, don’t let it rule your head. It means it is winning, and we can’t have that 😉

Best

Dominic

I would inform your neuro if it lasts 24 hrs or longer just since it’s a worsening of a symptom. I used to take gabapentin which didn’t help at all, but now I’m on lyrica which has helped. I also used to do certain exercises in pt that help with nerve pain. Feel better!

I would definitely call your nurse but the more we panic, the worse symptoms probably get so do try to stay calm – easier said than done I know.

I get tingling when I’ve been walking or I am tired, it can be really bad at times but I suppose it’s part and parcel of this wonderful disease.

You have all us here, call your nurse but it may just he because you are run down or stressed rather than a relapse.

Thank god, it came and went within 48 hours. I am so bloody grateful! I am very poorly at the moment so I think that might be why my symptoms are flaring. I always fear the worst, can’t help it! All back to normal now apart from this annoying cough. Thank you all, I hope you’re all well xxx

It could be the cold also, I suffer with the cold and usually when I feel tired my pins and needles flare up. Take it easy 😊.
