No sense of smell

Just wondering if anyone else has lost their sense of smell?

It got worse over time and is now gone completely. I’ve been to see a specialist neurologist about it, had MRIs and smell tests to try to get to the bottom of it. The neuro says it could be related to my MS which means I could get it back, but it may not be related either.

Of all of the senses, I suppose this probably the “best” one to lose, even though I have managed to leave the gas on overnight and not notice it in the morning…

Interestingly, I still taste food.

I’ve got to rely on memories of smells. Most of the time, I forget that I can’t smell. Only remember when someone else talks about smelling something.

Thanks,

Chris

I know of someone who lost their sense of smell at around the time she was diagnosed with coeliac disease. But she definitely can’t taste food, so it sounds worse than your case. She has major problems with her coeliac disease, too, unfortunately.
