I’ve started trying Mindfulness, I bought a book & have ripped the CD into my phone so I can listen to it when I get time to myself so feel prepared for it!
I guess loads of us MSers use Mindfulness to help with pain and wondered if I could get some feedback on how you deal with spasms during meditating through Mindfulness.
In my mind it goes like this:
Concentrate on my breathing… yeah got that… notice the souls of your feet… yeah got that… notice your ankles… splendid, doing well… notice your calves… my calves were ok until I “noticed” them, now they are beginning to spasm, don’t panic, keep feeling your breathing, it’s not working, keep breathing, don’t ignore it, acknowledge it and return to my breathing, spasms are getting tighter, etc… Then I lose concentration completely and think about starting again, that doesn’t work so I skip my calves but they are still painful.
How do you notice pain and acknowledge it without focusing on something as all consuming as MS pain?
