Looking for a new job

Good morning,

I’m looking for some advice please. I’m wanting a new job but I find it difficult to do the application form or even search for a new job, I’m so tired when I get home & I find it really hard to concentrate. Any advice would be great?

@sheena25 , it seems obvious, but can’t you do your job-searching at leisure at the weekend, or your days off.

MS Fatigue is something that we have to manage by pacing ourselves.

There may be some hints/tips in this booklet :-

What kind of line are you in? There are internet sites that specialise in matching job seekers with potential employers. Start with an up-to-date CV and then find one or more that covers your field.

Basically I want to change direction completely. I’m not happy in my current role & haven’t been for a long time. I’m looking for something that has some meaning.

Looking for a ‘job’ is a flog. Is it possible to ‘re-frame’ your search to ‘looking for my next step’? If I think is what you actually want it is much more likely you will put some of your precious energy into it.
Allow yourself to picture 12 months from now. You talking to new friends about how much you are enjoying your life. What is different? Where are you? Allow yorself to get excited.
The big question, ‘what did you do to get here’? Who helped you? Who did you tell you were a (rare and fantastic) talent looking for a next step?
The more people you tell the more likely one of them will know a person who knows someone who has a sister who knows that her company would be a great fit for you. You get the idea. Enjoy your journey. Good looking/luck. SMJ
