Help and advice

I was diagnosed in jan 2018 after having the different symptoms since 2010. My head has been all over the place. You have ppms i had been seeing my ms nurse prior to diagnosis. Since i was diagnosed i have not seen anyone. Appointments keep getting cancelled. I have altered sensation in my legs my hands are very stiff my bowels are affected. I feel so helpless. I havnt got anyone to talk to. Me and my husband are working things out between us everyday. I can sleep the clock round. I also have sexual dysfunction. I just want to scream. I really hope someone can help me give me some advice about what i should do.

Hi @warriorsal .

You’re still in shock about this diagnosis. It can take quite some time to come to terms with it. I’m talking a year or more.

So, go easy on yourself, as you need to control your thoughts racing all over the place and your stress levels going off the scale.

Here are some links about the symptoms that you have mentioned :-

Have a read through, then contact your MS Nurse to discuss each issue further.

And, do let us know how we can help. It is important that you allow yourself to calm down.

@warriorsal just know that we are here to help you through. I need to believe that as well. I guess I’m still in shock as I was just diagnosed last week with symptoms for 3 months. I’ve been fairly optimistic although my husband doesn’t seem to get the gravity of the situation. I’m here if you ever wanna talk through things, we seem to be in a similar situation!

Hi @warrioral and @silvergyrl I was also recently diagnosed 21st Feb, actually relieved I know what it is, but now it’s coming to terms with it. I have found this forum really really mega helpful and everyone is super supportive.
I also have found yoga and meditation really good for calming down my brain going into overload. But just take each day as it comes don’t put any pressure on yourself, and speak to everyone on here if you have any questions or need a vent!

@warriorsal

If you share your age, this would assist in my responses. Send me a friend request – we can chat off the record.

Dear Warriorsal, years ago I read in a ms Mag a piece from a lady who had sexual dysfunction, her words were ‘she and her husband had some lovely cuddles’ don’t try and do too much, tackle one thing at a time. 😍
