I worked in the NHS for 22 years (27 including training and a previous job). As has become commonplace these days, my job was sold to a private organisation. There were offers of Voluntary Redundancies, for which I applied. Being 51 and a Mental Health Nurse, I can convert redundancy into retirement (ordinarily I would be able to retire at 55).
The redundancy consultation period lasted for the whole of October, but the results were not announced until yesterday.
I will not be granted redundancy, as it would be too expensive for them to do so.
Has anyone found themselves in a similar situation? Any advice on how to challenge it?
Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.
