Went to visit the in-laws this weekend; my brother-in-law drove us to drop his daughter off at work. I went to get out of his vehicle and suddenly I was flat on my face in the parking lot.
The good news is that I have played a lot of sports so my reaction time is quick. And that since it was below freezing, I was wearing long johns which was a bit more protection. Only ended up with a gash in my hand from a rock, skinned (not bleeding) kneecaps. I can feel the muscle stiffness setting in but overall I dodged a bullet.
I am still peeved of at the automakers. Why does a Sedan (high mini-van type vehicle) have a one inch ridge; to trip people when they try to get out?
Hopefully I remember this for next time…
