A big shout out to Shift.ms supporters

Today is Giving Tuesday and we are celebrating our amazing donors and fundraisers.

Donations have helped us to reach more people than ever this year. Our membership has increased to nearly 19,000, we now have a bank of over 500 MS Reporters videos for people to utilise as resources and there have been 48,000 friendships made on http://www.Shift.ms.

From midnight (GMT) to 11pm this evening, we will be telling the world how our supporters have made an impact on Shift.ms through our social feeds on Twitter and Facebook. Feel free to share share these messages.

We will also be updating this thread regularly throughout the day. Please do join us in showing some love to those who have supported us so far this year by joining the conversation.

Did you know…
In the last financial year, 32 people completed fundraising events for Shift.ms. Everything from running a marathon to cutting off their hair. Our supporters have done loads of great things for us.

We’re lucky to have a huge range of supporters. Family, friends and members.

@tracyd is one such supporter, turning the first year of her amazing Lemtrada blog [http://tracyslemtradajourney.blogspot.com/] into a book with all proceeds going to Shift.ms. What a star! If you are interested, you can buy it here on Amazon – https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tracys-Lemtrada-Journey-Kicking-Nuts-ebook/dp/B01GE1V00M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543315714&sr=8-1&keywords=tracys+lemtrada+journey

Many of our members tell us how important Shift.ms is to them and how it has helped them at key points in their life. @marcyg921 has told us “I was scared for the future and it was hard to talk to anyone because I felt like they didn’t know what I was going through but at Shift.ms I got a lot of stuff off of my chest.”

This is a huge team effort from our members who have provided this important support to our volunteers to our donors who can ensure we continue to provide the platform. Thanks to everyone! Keep up the good work.

I mentioned some of the weird and wonderful ways people raise money for us. One such fundraisers is @anneb who cut off over a foot of her hair to raise money for Shift.ms. She tells us “Shift.MS is full of people who answer my stupid questions about my weird MS symptoms. It’s always great to find someone else who says “That happened to me too.”” Thanks Anne!

Last year a huge 730 financially donated to Shift.ms. We love hearing the reasons people donated, some people were supporting individuals in an event, others want to express their thanks for supporting a loved one, some gave as a gift to others, and one person donated in lieu of Christmas cards.
