Handicap parking

So I just left the store and I parked in handicap and when I parked, there was an older gentleman watching me and when I got out, he said something to me. It really hurt my feelings because I’m just like you don’t know what I do with on a daily basis just because I don’t look ill does not mean I’m not. How do y’all deal with this or if people are watching do you not park there or do you say anything back?

You are right to feel this way. It is none of his business! Don’t let it get you down, as you said—he does not know what you go through on the daily. There are a lot of ignorant people out there—don’t let them get you down. Also, you could ignore it or give a quick quip like “there is a lot you don’t see!” Or “and you don’t look foolish but here we are”.

I was in Mexico last summer. The woman who was operating an elevator did not want to allow me to ride. Climbing two levels in a parking garage is painful.
