Films(movies) about MS - a query from a sufferer.

I'm not really one for watching films about MS but I was curious to know what people felt about some of these films. More specifically, what are your feelings about how screenwriters portray the illness and how the public at large characterise it(how informed or uninformed are non-sufferers having watched them?). Below is a link to a list of films and TV episodes. http://www.imdb.com/list/w4kc29ggoQ0/

The portrayal of MS in films/dramas is an interesting subject. I think the word drama is the important word here, if it involves MS, it has to be dramatic! And this may be where the problem lies. Has your MS been dramatic, or is it just an ever-present nuisance which you can categorise along with paying tax? I'm not a great film buff and have only seen the occasional appearance of MS in TV dramas. In most cases, it has had a serious, detrimental effect on the sufferer and their mental stability. It's good that MS does get an airing, but does it make good drama? Does it portray the isolation that we may feel? Could it ever show that MS and its progression can be as exciting as watching paint dry?

This kinda bugs me ... Each case of MS is so different and affects everyone so differently so it could be portrayed as too serious or not serious enough ... I wish people were more aware of just how affected or not so affected people are and just how different each case is... I must admit before my dx I wasn't very clued up and thought some people had it worse than others, I didn't know there are so many types and each type so different in themselves ... I wish this was made more aware ... Out of interest I'll try and watch some of those films but they will probably bug me :/ xxx
