Newly Diagnosed
Hello ! I got diagnosed last week with RMS.
I don’t know how to feel, I knew the diagnosis was coming since my first MRI which I got because of a bulging disc. I have been told I’m being diagnosed the “wrong” way as normally people get diagnosed after they experience vision problems.
I hate when people say that to me as I never asked for this to happen to me.
I’m 21, I don’t know what to do with the rest of my life. I’m at a complete loss. I struggle with mental health issues and I feel this has made it worse lately 😖
Legs led to my diagnosis not eyes. I usta go up a 40 foot ladder and craw through a pipe cleaning the leftover fluf(non metallic items from cars) but they stopped me from doing it bc my legs were going downhill. Few months after they put me into short term and sent me to a leg doc he sent me to pt and they felt the strength of my legs and talked to my doc saying they think I’m he problem is something else. Then talked to neuro and had mri showing my holy brain and spine and had me admitted to a bigger hospital for some treatment where they steal my blood from one arm run it through a machine that takes the platelets out and put it back with new platelets. Had 4 days of that was suposta be 5 but they were having trouble finding veins 4th day and said 5th isn’t really needed is just a mop up to make sure it’s all good.
Sorry you’ve experienced a diagnosis young. It’s something you can get through despite that anxiety. Hold tight, things could get a little wavy in the storm but you will find yourself again. Don’t give up, make life worth it I was diagnosed young, thought - well life is over now 🥺 I was wrong 🤦♂️ You are still young, life can be completed exactly how you want it to be. Life for me has been a bunch of surprises - good, some bad but none related to the MS Yo from Scotland 🏴 I’ve spotted a number of young folks on this site, I hope you can connect wi people your own age via shift Remember feed the cat 😜
