Misinformation Posted on the App
There seems to be an uptick in misinformation on this app including links posted containing articles or videos from “doctors” and research that has been debunked.
If you are new to this site or newly diagnosed or even if you aren’t new, please, please, please talk to your healthcare team before changing your diet, taking new supplements or doing any “cleanses” particularly parasite cleanses.
While some things may seem harmless, we are all so very different in our health needs and many of us have other conditions in addition to MS that need to considered.
Drastic dietary changes can cause issues and there are supplements and cleanses that can have adverse side effects including liver damage.
When reading research it’s important to find credible, peer reviewed, long term studies done in large and diverse control groups.
Just because someone posts something on social media or has a website, doesn’t make it true.
I know many of us wish there was a cure for MS and some of us are desperately seeking ways to manage our symptoms but taking drastic or unproven measures can cause more harm than good.
I truly wish folks would stick to sharing their personal experience and didn’t share false hope and outright misinformation.
We all have a unique journey with MS to share and what works for one person may not work for someone else.
